How to wait for a customer response before sending an automated message in a chatflow

SOLVE

Intercom has a feature in their chatflow builder that sends an automated response to a user only after they've typed a question. I don't see the ability to do that in hubspot chatflows, is there anyway to make this happen?

FYI for those interested. Myself and @SOgunleye met on a call to go through her chatbot issue and discovered that because she was using two 'Send a simple message' actions one after another there was no gap between the messages. We changed the first action to 'ask a question' and this allowed a gap for the lead to respond.

My name is Olivia and I an ex-HubSpotter turned HubSpot expert for Baskey the agency. Happy to help here!


Hubspot chatbots must have a 'Welcome message' which is the first message that appears when the bot window opens. This is not such a bad thing though as this message can be a question that gathers lead info such as asking their first name or their area of interest. 

May I ask why you want to avoid this initial message?
