When trying to export my deals, the export is not returning the Associated Company name.  Instead it is returning the Record ID Number.

Export Not Including Associated Company Name - Instead Record ID Number

SOLVE

Hi @SNavins22 and everyone,

This is probably happening in the wake of a new HubSpot beta which you can find under Settings > Product updates > All > Removing Associated Records Display Properties By Default in Export.

Make sure you're enrolled to get the below functionality, see the checkbox for "Include associated record name". (Sorry for the low resolution, can't get the post editor to keep up a higher res.)

Removing Associated Records Display Properties By Default in Export

  • Public Beta
  • Last updated: April 17, 2025

What is it?

Going forward, we will not include the display property for associated records in exports by default. If you'd like to continue receiving this information in your exports, you can check the "Include associated record name" checkbox under the customization options in the export pop-up.

Why does it matter?

By removing the display properties for associated records in exports, we greatly increase the speed and performance of larger exports. For larger exports, removing this one column can save hours on your export -- getting you the data you need out of HubSpot faster.

How does it work?

If your export includes associations with another CRM object, the default export will now only include a column for associated record IDs. If you wish to still receive a column with the name of associated records in your export file, simply check the box to "Include associated record names" under the customization options in the export pop-up.

Export Not Including Associated Company Name - Instead Record ID Number

Good to know why this has started happening.  It has caused me a few issues as I use exports for a number of fixed Excel reports that don't pull correctly if i forget to change the toggle.  Ideally, we would like the ability for individuals to set their default position themselves, or give admins the ability to do this for them.

As someone who works in SaaS, this is possibly one of the dumbest developments I've ever witnessed. Please pass this along to your team.

We also are all of a sudden experiencing this when export.  If you export a view you can select the option to include assocaiated record name under the customize section:

We are experiencing this as well. It just creates more work for me and the team to replace those IDs with company names. Hoping this was accidental and will be reversed by HubSpot..

It has been working all along until today.  The field is actually showing Deal-Company (Primary) and shows on the screen correctly, but all of a sudden today it is coming out of the export as Associated Company ID as the header and a number for the cells.

Hi @NMyers0 ,

When exporting Deals, HubSpot by default includes associated Company ID, not the Company Name. This is because associations are handled through internal record links, and unless you explicitly include the "Associated Company: Company name" property, it won't show up.

You can use a Custom Report Builder, if you want more control or want to include additional associated object fields.
