No target ID for Zapier Create Associations action?

SOLVE

I feel like I'm missing something. I'm trying to create an assoicaiton between two objects using Zapier. There's a field to input the ID of the from object but not the to object. How do identify the second  object?

You're welcome, @PTancredi. If you use the API Request (Beta) step in the HubSpot app in Zapier, you don't need to input auth info. It uses your app login information. That said, sometimes it will still error (I think due to scopes). In that case, you would need to use a custom webhook step and put in something like a personal access token, which is what you don't want to do.

I think the integration ownership varies. For the HubSpot integration, I think Zapier owns the connection. If my API Request (Beta) suggestion doesn't work, I'd recommend reaching out to Zapier support with the same screenshot you sent in your original request.

Hi @PTancredi, I experience the same thing, and yes you are right. There should be field to populate the id.

You may try using a custom API request step to associate records without a label.

The URL should be: https://api.hubapi.com/crm/v4/objects/0-1/{fromObjectId}/associations/default/0-410/{toObjectId}

Let us know if it works for you. There may be some scope updates we need to handle.

Thanks, Ryan. I'd already used a Custom API as my workaround and it works just fine, but I'd rather not have to put the autoraization information into the Zap. It just seemed odd that the UI doesn't let you specify two object IDs when making an assocation. It's unclear to me who manages the integrations. Maybe this is a zapier question.
