Workflow-Trigger LinkedIn Post

resolver

Hi,
I would like to automatically notify my colleagues about a new LinkedIn post. For this purpose I have thought about setting up a workflow. As a trigger I see the active post via the social media menu in the Marketing hub.
Through this a notification should be published in the Slack channel with all relevant info.
Is this possible at all?

Hi @SLehmann

As workflows are triggered based on HubSpot object properties (contacts, companies, deals, tickets etc.) I don't believe a workflow can currently achieve what you are looking to do with LinkedIn social media posts.

However, you could use a service such as Zapier to connect to HubSpot and trigger on New Social Media Message (then select LinkedIn as your channel)

From there your action would be something like Send Channel Message in Slack.

Hope that helps.

Thanks Matthew, I set it up and tested it directly with Zapier - and it works!

I am trying to do the same but I am running into issues when I try to connect Hubspot to Zapier. I am using this template/workflow from Zapier.

I am able to connect my Hubspot account, but when it comes to connecting the channels from Hubspot to Zapier I get this message:

Error while invoking: Error during execution: This oauth-token (CNjG8vi) does not have proper permissions! (requires any of [social-access])

Any idea what is happening and how to fix it? Methinks there is something about user permissions between hubspot, zapier, and the actual social accounts. Let me know! Thanks!

Hi @shanelle

As you say, I suspect this is due to your permissions for the associated social account within HubSpot. I would check what social permissions your HubSpot user account has - make sure your access is set to "their connected accounts" or "All accessible accounts" (that permission is only available to Marketing Hub Enterprise).

If the social account you are trying to access isn't an account you have admin access to (i.e. you are not the page admin for your LinkedIn page) and you didn't connect the social account to HubSpot yourself, that could cause this issue. You can either ask the admin that connected the page to HubSpot to set up the Zap or reconnect the social account to HubSpot while logged into your HubSpot user account.
