Updated thumbnails do not appear when the post goes active
SOLVE
I use the files feature as a content pool for my social media scheduling/ posting via Hubspot Marketing. Fortunately, Hubspot has an option to change the thumbnail of a video, but unfortunately, the edited thumbnail does not appear on the live post, which is pretty disappointing to say the least.
If it was one video I had to post in a week on one platform, it would've been fine, but reality for most social media specialists is that they have to post several videos across different platforms for different companies/ personnels at around the same time.
I know I can change the thumbnail outside of Hubspot, but to be paying for Hubspot Marketing & the given feature not working properly..not good.
After reviewing the documentation, apparently, the Social Media publishing ignores the Custom Thumbnail image that is entered/customized in HubSpot - the image shows up correctly through the process until it's published. Once published, the video resorts to the first frame (because of the autoplay).
The reason this occurs is due to the permissions available for third-party applications like HubSpot given by the social media platforms at this time.
There is an Idea's forum post describing this limitation here. In this post, there is a workaround proposed, which involves embedding the video on a HubSpot-created page first. Although this likely wasn't the resolution you were hoping for, I do hope it helps bring clarity to the matter.
Hope this helps! If we were able to answer your query, kindly help the community by marking it as a solution. Thanks and Regard.

I'm having the same issue with images. When I change the Thumbnail to a blog in Hubspot it's shown my newly chosen image, but when posted the Hubspot suggested image is there instead of my chosen/uploaded image. This happend already several times, and is realy anoying because we need to check everything and are switching to posting them manually because it is more relyable.....

I'm having the exact same issue. It's frustrating as I want to be able to track my social posts as part of a campaign. I'm not sure why the option exists if it's just overwritten by the social channels.
