LinkedIn Sponsored Post Formatting Issues

Every time I use Hubspot's social posting connector to our company LinkedIn profile, the team member tagging is spotty, but the post formatting and content always come through to LinkedIn correctly when published. However, when I have made a post from HS -> LI and have tagged people, if I then boost that company post, it always completely throws off the formatting in the post content around those people's names. It removes the tag and name and completely replaces it with {{linkedin_mention(urn:li:person:86-0EclucJ|PersonsName)}} for every individual I had included.

LinkedIn doesn't seem to have any answers on this either, but this scenario happens everytime the boosted social post originates from Hubspot.

LinkedIn Sponsored Post Formatting Issues

Hey @HKinard, thank you

for bringing this up! The issue you're experiencing seems to stem from how LinkedIn handles mentions through API integrations like HubSpot's. When posts with tags are boosted, LinkedIn replaces the mentions with placeholders, which is a known limitation.

A potential workaround is to edit the post directly on LinkedIn after publishing it from HubSpot to ensure the tags display correctly before boosting.

@TomM2 and @Anton do you have any recommendations for @HKinard matter?

Thank you,

Pam

Experiencing this as well. That's not really a workaround because it doesn't fix or avoid the underlying issue. It's just extra work.

Thank you for the quick reply! I submitted a ticket with the LinkedIn technical support team about the issue as it was preventing any editing from saving to the post to allow for those formatting edits to be made. Here is their reply…

“After sending this to our technical team, we've been informed this is an issue on Hubspot's end and seems something may have changed with their API. My apologies as we are not able to troubleshoot this issue and recommend reaching out to Hubspot to check on this further.”
