Instagram Reels Issue

Recently I noticed an issue where when I publish an Instagram reel through Hubspot, sometimes it only shows up under the "REELS" tab on Instagram, rather than "REELS" and "POSTS." This seems to make a big difference, as the ones that only show up under "REELS" perform drastically worse than the ones that show up under "REELS" and "POSTS."

When I posted the same reel directly through Instagram to test out the issue, I did not have this problem, as it published under "REELS" and "POSTS" and is performing about as expected.

Is this a HubSpot glitch or is there something I'm missing?

Instagram Reels Issue

You're right to be concerned about your Instagram reels' reach when published through HubSpot only showing up under the "REELS" tab. This definitely seems like it could be impacting performance compared to reels posted directly on Instagram.

Here are some possibilities for the issue and potential solutions:

HubSpot Glitch:

It's possible that HubSpot has a bug causing reels to not post correctly to both "REELS" and "POSTS" tabs. It's a good idea to report the issue to HubSpot support and see if they're aware of it or have any workarounds.

Configuration Error:

Check your settings within HubSpot's Instagram integration. Some integrations have options for choosing which sections the post should appear in. Ensure "REELS" and "POSTS" are both selected.

Double-confirm the reel you're trying to publish is categorized as a "Reel" within HubSpot, just in case a different post type is accidentally being chosen.

Instagram's Algorithm:

While less likely, there's a chance that Instagram's algorithm could be prioritizing reels posted directly within the app over those published through third-party tools like HubSpot.

To test this, try posting several reels directly through Instagram and through HubSpot (with both "REELS" and "POSTS" selected) and compare their performance over a period of time. https://reelssaver.net/

 Additional tips:

Use relevant hashtags and captions to improve your reel's visibility regardless of where it appears.

Promote your reels across other platforms like Facebook and Stories to attract more viewers.

Monitor your reel analytics in both HubSpot and Instagram to see if there are any specific metrics that are significantly different between the two platforms.

Instagram Reels Issue

Have posted on this several times and have not seen any response from HubSpot on this.  My client has now cancelled their Marketing Pro subscription for other reasons, but I am not at all inclined to encourage them to keep it at this point.  Disappointing.
