Let me introduce my self. My name is Tarinda Afridatul. I am a psychology student my final year and have a great interest in social media. In my opinion, Instagram and Facebook are social media that have a big impact if we do promotions there. This is because the social media users of the two platforms are very heterogeneous from children to the elderly and also their reach is quite wide. I hope that by taking this course, my ability to manage social media and help companies out there can develop and grow for the better.

Hi, my name is Victoria Famiglietti.
- I am currently a senior Marketing major and Psychology minor. I am interested in getting a Social Media Marketing job after I graduate.
- In my opinion, Instagram is the most effective social media channel for promotion. I think there are a lot of opportunities to advertise and grow your following through Instagram. For example, Instagram Reels are very popular and a great way to reach more Instagram users.
- The last memorable social media update is the Peloton Cool Down. It is similar to Spotify Wrapped. Peloton put together a personalized year in review for their members. For example, the number of days you were active, favorite instructors, PR class, most frequent workout time, the number of high fives you received, badges, and milestones. Peloton also added the option to share these stats. This new update allows Peloton to reach new customers and drive more subscriptions.
- I am looking forward to gaining more knowledge about Social Media Marketing through this course and community!

I think the most effective social media channel for many businesses are still Facebook and Instagran: Not only they have a huge audience for B2C, but also a big audience of small and medium businesess for B2B.

Hey friends! My name is Sydney and I have been in the world of social media for 4 years now. I began as a freelancer who offered social media management services to small businesses, and then moved up to assisting high-level executives brand themselves online. After bringing my child earth-side, I decided I didn't like being my own boss and began to work at my church part-time in their communications department as the Social Media & Copywriting Director. I've been working in that role for a year now, and have since taken on another part-time opportunity as the Social Media & Branding Director for a company called SwimLife. My name is Jorge Garcia and I have always been working in the construction market, selling and building strategies for selling products and services for the construction companies in the building and civil work niches. I passionately believe face-to-face consultative selling is the most successful approach for my industry. But I know the experience our customers have in the other channels such as social media platforms and websites is extremely important to gain the client's trust before even receiving a call to quote. I have been reading a lot and checking myself in several seminars about digital and social media marketing, and I got involved in designing content preferences for the business units I led recently, but I want to get to know a lot more about this important subject. Hello all! My name is Remco Timmermans and I am the owner and founder of Spaceside, a social media agency specialising in the global space industry. Space is a typical high-tech sector, where the use of social media is still in its infancy. Most social media 'marketing' in space is B2B, or aimed at public outreach. Most used social channels are similar to other tech industries, and include LinkedIn, Facebook and especially Twitter, which has a large and very loyal space user community.
The space industry is home to one of the largest corporate social media users in the world: NASA. They were an early adopter of social channels, and are currently bigger on social media than practically all other big consumer and B2B corporates, with many millions of followers on their company channels.
I have been working in social media marketing for several years, but feel I am not always connected with the rest of the content/online marketing community, so I am sure I have a lot to learn here!

Hello! I'm Helen.
--I am currently an assistant teacher working with special needs preschoolers. After 20 years in this role, I am looking to blend my assistant skills with my tech and creative arts skills to change up my career a bit.
--I think that YouTube and Facebook provide solid promotional opportunities. They are easy to navigate and most people are familiar with them and/or engage regularly with them. As a consumer, I have been successfully marketed to the most through these platforms.
--An example of an effective social media update comes from The Sisters Enchanted - a group I follow on Facebook. It is brilliant in its design - pulling interest by offering a tarot spread to try, the breadcrumb then leads to informing us that one of their popular classes is going on hiatus for a few months, so hurry and visit it before that happens and the link will lead you to their website which offers plenty of other classes you can explore.
--From this study group I hope to study along side people with similar interests and have discussions about what we are learning.
