How to awaken your instagram followers?

Sarvin
Miembro

Hi, I am the founder of Sarvin made in UK clothing brand and I am finding it really hard to engage with my followers as they hardly see my posts on their grid now. Any suggestions or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you 🙂

This is a very common issue right now, especially for brands. You’re not doing anything wrong. Instagram has simply shifted how reach works, and passive followers need to be re-activated intentionally.

Here are some practical, brand-friendly ways to “awaken” your followers without feeling spammy.

1. Switch From Broadcasting to Conversation
Most brand posts are one-way. Try content that invites a response:

  • “Which colour would you wear this with?”

  • “Day to night look. Which do you prefer?”

  • Polls and sliders in Stories work better than feed posts for re-engagement.

Instagram boosts content that gets early interaction.

2. Use Stories as Your Main Touchpoint
Many followers don’t see feed posts anymore, but they still watch Stories.

  • Show behind-the-scenes

  • Fabric details

  • Packaging, fittings, or styling tests

  • Short “this or that” style choices

Consistency in Stories rebuilds visibility faster than feed posts.

3. Re-Introduce Yourself (Softly)
Old followers may not remember why they followed you.

  • Post a short Reel about your brand story

  • Share what makes Sarvin different

  • Talk about craftsmanship, sustainability, or fit

This resets emotional connection.

4. Focus on Reels Over Static Posts
Reels currently get the highest organic reach.

  • Styling transitions

  • Model walk clips

  • Close-ups of texture and movement

  • Before / after styling

Keep them short, natural, and not overly polished.

5. Encourage Small Actions
Instead of asking people to “shop now,” ask for lighter engagement:

  • “Save this look for later”

  • “Send this to someone who’d wear it”

  • “Comment YES if this is your vibe”

These signals help push your content back onto their grid.

6. Engage Before You Post
Spend 10–15 minutes engaging with followers’ content before posting.
Reply to comments, like their posts, react to Stories. This increases the chance they’ll see your next post.

7. Accept That Some Followers Are Dormant
Not all followers can be revived, and that’s okay. The goal is to re-activate the right ones while steadily attracting new, relevant followers.

If you want to align your content strategy with how Instagram currently distributes reach, this breakdown explains the follower behavior and algorithm side really well: Instagram Followers Kaise Badhaye

In short:
Visibility comes back through consistency, conversation, and human content. When followers feel seen, they start seeing you again.

It's hard. A lot of followers doesn't always mean a lot of engagement. You can try to make a more engaging content. It's the best way to wake up real followers. You can try and buy some new Instagram followers that will engage more with your post. This might trigger the algorithm to show your posts to more people. You can check this link for more info.

I've been struggling with the same issue—my posts barely reach my followers. Has anyone tried using an Instagram followers app to boost initial engagement? Wondering if it helps alongside Reels and Stories or if it's not worth it.

A few things that worked for me in the past were to actively engage with other accounts that are in similar field to what you page is about. For example, if my page is about cooking tutorials, then it would make sense to interact with other people whose interest is around cooking.

It might be hard in the begining stage especially if you just created the account recently. It takes time for sure to see the growth. But if you keep being consistent in posting more high quality content that people are looking for, then there's a likelihood your page will pick up the pace. Reels might be what you're looking for since Instagram is pushing Reels to its users.

Cheers!

Hi @Sarvin! In addition to what @MiaSrebrnjak and @irfangul offered, my encouragement is to test efforts.

Would an Instagram live help? Maybe some Reels? Adding to your Story?

Testing these efforts, including asking a question in your post, and doing so consistently over a chosen period of time (like 30 days or a full quarter perhaps), will help you begin to see how your audience is engaging with your various tactics.

Hope that helps!

I use all tools available to help answer questions. This may include other Community posts, search engines, and generative AI search tools. But I always use my experience and my own brain to make it human.

Hi!

One of the best ways to improve your engagement is by using hashtags relevant to your brand and target audience. You can also try to post more engaging content, such as user-generated content or behind-the-scenes photos. Additionally, consider utilizing paid social media advertising to reach a larger audience.

Good luck!
