The company I used to work for is very good a social media customer service. They have different groups for different types of dog trainers and most of the time the community answers questions. Since it was only a 1 person operation fielding the questions, having those communities was really helpful. Even when somebody has a complaint, the community came together to say things like, "That's weird. Have you tried calling Minnie? She usually helps with everything!" and then the person calms down, called and usually came back to edit their post or complaint to let everybody know it was resolved. Back then I didn't realize how effective this strategy was.

I can tell you how we do at our company. When a customer is complaining about the products or the brand we try to reach him/her to see what their problem is and try to solve it. We never leave a customer without an answer to their problem, even if that comes with a price for us. Because we are a jewelry brand, we usually try to replace the product, send it to service or in some cases, if the product really has factory defect, we give them a refund. We know that one unhappy customer means way more unhappy customers because people listen to what others have to say about the brand and the products and they trust more a customers review or perspective. Curious to learn how you guys are dealing with unhappy customers at your company.

Not only was her confidence in the brand restored, she became an active promoter of their products!
