Design Practicum rough draft, thoughts?

SOLVE

Hey folks,

I've been working on my Hubspot Design Certification and I'm trying to make my design practicum page. I've been getting rather frustrated though - creating templates is not as easy as I was expecting. However, I have a rough draft ready and I'm simply looking for some feedback. Do you think this page will pass the design practicum? If not, what do I need to work on?

The intention of this page template is a homepage for Twitch streamers or other video-based internet personalities. Hence the video front and center and the social media feeds below.

https://preview.hs-sites.com/_hcms/preview/template/multi?is_buffered_template_layout=true&portalId=...

Just a side note, I'm focusing primarily on making the page work and making sure nothing breaks. I know the content is rather empty and the colors aren't the best, so try not to focus your feedback too much on those aspects.

Thank you!

In my experience, the purpose of the Design Practicum is to ensure that you have a practical understanding about how the Design Manager works. That is, you are able to manipulate modules, customize CSS both inline and in an external stylesheet, etc. As long as the tasks themselves are done and you haven't done anything to break the built-in mobile responsiveness, you should be good to go.

@ap3xgh0st,

I like your page.

I went through the practicum check list. The only the that I can find (out of what I'm able to check) is that you do have some inline styling applied. I don't know how big of a deal that will be.

I also noticed that the module you are hiding under 480px is the video, and your form title says subscribe for more. With out the video you are left wondering "more what?" It's just something I noticed I doubt it matters for a practicum submission.

Your background image is slow to load, try resizing the image to about 1600px wide and run it through compressor.io.

I think you are close with your colors. Your typography is unfinished in the bottom section.

I think it works. It seams to pass most of the requirements and it's a good layout.
