HI

I have a question. 😃

If I have a chat conversation in the inbox, and I return the chat message

but the sender has left the chat.

How can I make sure that the customer has read my answer

Thanks in advance

Hi @PEngelMøller,

You can't, unfortunately. If someone closes their tab or browser, they're gone.

You can however ask for the email address before the conversation starts: https://knowledge.hubspot.com/chatflows/create-a-live-chat#1-build-create-a-welcome-message

This gives you another communication channel, should someone drop out of the chat.

Best regards!

Hi @PEngelMøller,

Other users have requested read receipts for chat here: https://community.hubspot.com/t5/HubSpot-Ideas/Client-s-most-recent-rely-should-have-a-quot-read-rec...

I'd recommend upvoting and commenting on the request. The product team reviews these requests based on their popularity.

Hi @PEngelMøller,

How would you expect this to work if someone closes their browser / tab and doesn't leave any contact information?

Best regards!

Yes!! If a customer leaves a chat I want to make sure that the customer has read the chat. I know that I can't respond if I don't have the email

But just knowing that I have to send a email would be nice
