I was pulling a report of the number of contacts being created by each rep through the sales outlook extension over the last month. We have several contacts being created by an "unknown" user and it gives a user ID that doesn't match any of our users. We haven't deactivated any users recently. Is there any way to know who those users are or how to stop this from happening?
I would suggest you look at the Original Source for those contacts and see if it's possible that they were added by an integration?
Also, are those contacts only new ones or are there some from before that follow the same pattern?
Check out some imports that you might have done recently as if a contact owner is specified there and it doesn't match what's in the system, then maybe that's causing it.
Last, but not least, talk to the team and see if anyone recognises the contacts. Also, check the companies associated with those contacts and see if anyone owns the companies.
An integration could be the source of these contacts, however I would recommend contacting our Technical Support team to confirm as these contacts are specific to your account. They will be able to examine the contacts and offer advice on how to analyze these contacts in a report. When you contact them, I would recommend sharing a few contact examples in your ticket, in addition to any details that may be pertinent to your query. Thank you!
Best,
Kristen
