Lead source tracking in HubSpot

Hello everyone!

I have a question regarding original source tracking in HubSpot we are on a free HubSpot account and want to check the leads that are coming through from form in an inbound way also we are getting leads from integration so how can we Identify which lead came through form submission or from Integration if the lead came in through Integration how HubSpot will map that example what will be the original source of that lead?

Hi @Saassolution,

Contacts created through integrations will typically show up as coming from offline sources. This is common and I'm not aware of any integrations that would pass on actual source information into the default fields.

You can always edit this value manually: https://knowledge.hubspot.com/records/update-and-filter-contacts-using-source-properties#manually-up...

Some integrations capture source information in separate fields. You can check with the integration provider whether this is possible. In that case, you would have additional properties that you can check and refer to for source information.

In Professional and Enterprise subscriptions, automation (workflows) can be used to look up values in these additional fields and copy them automatically into the default source properties. In the free CRM, this is not possible.

Hey @Saassolution

So the leads coming through form submissions will be marked as Direct traffic under source property and the leads coming in through the integration example "ZoomInfo" will be marked as offline sources

To understand more about this kindly check this article here: https://knowledge.hubspot.com/properties/understand-source-properties#:~:text=The%20Original%20sourc...

Hey @Saassolution

you can get to see all the source information

in Original source property and also Original Source Drill down 1 and Original Source Drill down 2

for more detail

so for an import you will see:

-Original source: offline sources

-Original Source Drill down 1: Import

-Original Source Drill down 2: the name of the import, for example, SaaS Mid size company UK

so for an Integration you will see:

-Original source: offline sources

-Original Source Drill down 1: Integrations

-Original Source Drill down 2: the name of the app, for example, Surfe, Sales Navigator, Zoom integration

You can use all of these properties in contact views, filters, lists, workflows and of course, reports.

Here is an explanatory article about this

hope this helps
