I have an issue with HubSpot payments not being available. Only Stripe. I just can't click on the button. Contacted Support and opened a ticket and they didn't answer.
Anybody has had the same problem? Why is this?
I wouldn't have any problem with selecting Stripe BUT I'm not sure what the differences between the two. I try to research online and I get confused because there seem to be many solutions with the same names:
Stripe payment integration for Quotes (in the marketplace)
Stripe data sync integrations (in the marketplace)
Hubspot payments powered by Stripe (in the payments section)
Stripe payments (in the payments section).
Just the naming makes everything confusing. If someone has used both of the last two solutions it would be really helpful. Can you help me identify the differences between the two?
I just want to know:
What is the difference between Hubspot payments and Stripe payments?
Do they handle recurring payments in the same way?
Do they handle payment links in the same way?
Do both register the same information inside Hubspot in a way that can be used for filters, workflows, and lists?
The info on their official page is completely useless for this. The fees and approval times are not so relevant. I don't understand why I can't find clear information about this online and support just doesn't answer.
Hey @Ericsonds. Are you in the US? That could affect your use of HubSpot Payments. Unless you're using a free Hub, you should have access if you're in the US.
The basic difference is that Payments is native (but built on the Stripe architecture) and Stripe is an integration.
In general, they do operate the same way. Stripe does have a little more robust functionality (HubSpot payments is a bit stripped down), but essentially works the same for resurring payments and data passing into HubSpot. The links themselves will differ a little bit, as payment links in HubSpot are built right into the portal. So you may have an extra step or two creating a Stripe payment link, but data will be pushed into HubSpot for use in tools like workflows.
Looks like you picked Stripe and it wants you to continue the process. Can you delete the attempt? You can only choose one or the other. So its doing what it should by blocking you from entering HS Payments setup. As for the diferent offerings you are correct. There are only 3 options. 1. HS Payments native payment processor. Opens up Subscription Management inside HS. 2. HS Payments with Stripe and Stripe will be the processor 3. Stripe intergation. Is exactly what it is. Everything payments is in Stripe. 4. Stripe Data Sync is for Company and customer data and fields to be updated - 2 way sync.
So you choose either of the first three and if you you choose the 3rd then you need to also use Stripe Data sync.
Yes they both will handle recurring payments and payment links the same way, The visibility to see if a customer paid would live in Stripe if Stripe is chosen. HS Payments native is what you want if you want the management and payment details in HS. Hope that helps.
While I'm not entirely sure why the button would be grayed-out, the top section of the FAQ also has a section titled Who is eligible to use the payments tool that might offer some insight.
