Dunno if this message is normal when trying to sync to a Salesforce lead when the HubSpot contact doen't have an email address. We knew what was wrong because our test contacts are clearly named. Absent that, we'd have no idea what the problem is/was without further investigation.

While it is documented that contacts who don't have email address won't sync to salesforce, (see under "contact not syncing to salesforce") there is definitely room for improvement in the error message. I will pass this feedback along to the team.
