Google Contacts Sync Works AND LABLES!

SOLVE

This is a good news post: I have the paid Starter edition, Google is my domain host and I access my email and contacts via Outlook. The crazy part is that I have 6000+ contacts but within that same list, I add 700 contacts for a new venture and started HUB with a different email login than the source Google Contacts email login.

My Hub emaill is different from the Google contacts Email login, so that was a concern to see how CRM + Google Contacts + Sync with Outlook desktop would all work  - and I use an iphone with Apple Contacts and Apple Email.

IT ALL WORKS PERFECTLY.

Outlook for Hub sync did not work for my config.

We downloaded Google Contacts app from Hub Marketplace and it allowed me to connect my Google Contacts (even with a different google login).

SYNC

When it came time to set up sync, I didn't want 6000 reords coming into HUB nor HUB messing up 6000 contacts.

SO - we discovered that you CAN use the "label" feature in Google Contacts as a requirement filter option in the sync setup for HUB!

We tested with a new label that had ONE contact associated to it.

RESULT

HUB added contacts to google that were not in google, success.

Google sent the ONE test record to HUB that had the "LABEL" success.

I then assigned the label to all the appropriate other contacts and they all come arcrss! FAST!! 600+

I was DREADING having to export to CSV and attempt this using the old way of importing...this tool WORKED PERFECTLY!

TESTING

I made sure to MAP the "NOTE" field in google/outlook to match the "Comment" field in HUB.  That allows me to get all the outlook "note box" information into HUB.

More importantly when I modify the Comment field in HUB, it sync's the note field in the other direction....right down to my phone (iPhone, contacts)!!  It works perfectly!!

ZERO duplicate emails.

Adding new records in either (outlook, iphone, google or HUB) and all will sync.

*The only "Step" at this time while I have the lists co-mingled, is that if I create the record as an iPhone contact, it will sync up to google but I need to add the "Label" for hub to pick it up (prior to email tracking).  If added in HUB, it will send it down, and remain in sync without the need of the google label.

If I had a dedicated Google Contacts like most would, you would not need to use the Label feature as I have.

The Tech did NOT know google LABELS was an available feature; we worked through it together, with total confidence, and with great results!!  (thanks @WeslleyDias for the patience and great support.  Thank you HUB for creating and supporting an efficient and effective client support team!)

So happy - had to share.

If you're using the free version, pay the  nominal monthly fee for starter, the value is there for you.  Now if only HUB would allow some limited use of the other modules, for starter, that would be evern better!)

CONTEXT: I started my career as a CRM consultant then started a company for finaincal systyms integration including CRM within the fintec sector in Canada. Seeing things "WORK" still makes me very happy (even 30 years later!)

Certainly there is no notes field in the sync for free ver. I feel this is a Big deficiency. As well as multiple email addresses most people have one work and one home address.
