"ChatSpot is not available in our EU Data Centre without a connected account
By clicking on the link below you can access ChatSpot without connection to your EU hosted HubSpot account. When using ChatSpot disconnected from your EU account, data will be stored in the North American Data Centre"
When trying to connect our Hubspot account to ChatSpot this is the message that I get. I'd love to understand what data will sit in the US datacentre, and whether this may breach any EU GDPR laws?
I've spoken with support and they've said if I'm sending any customer information to ChatSpot it will end up in the US. It would be really useful for HS to address this officially so that EU customers are aware of this and do not accidentally breach any privacy laws.
Yes, as Shadab has said chatspot is based off of chatgpt, so the data will be sent to the US. If you're in breach of EU law is solely based around the data you sent to it. If you're passing customer data to it then yes you are breaching EU law.
In theory, allowing it to access your CRM entirely may potentially be in breach of EU privacy laws.
To be honest this really is something you need to consult a legal professional on, there's a lot of nuances and specifics here that the technical help on this forum will not be able to provide a definitive answer to.

Great & very Important Question here, I cannot say on behalf of HubSpot but i think its all the data they need to be sending to OpenAI (ChatGPT) which is based in NA.
I recommend confirming this with HubSpot Support or Legal
