Change Public View Login Setting

lösung

Hello,

Can we change the Public View Login Setting after having an organization set up?

We have an existing setup and would like to know whether we can apply changes if data already exists.
This is to enforce authentication when user clicks on “View in HubSpot” button in the condensed view of HubSpot contact in Iframe

Thanks,
Sai

Hi, @Sai. Try the following link and toggle the Allow Public View setting:

https://app.hubspot.com/sales-products-settings/[YOUR_PORTAL_ID]/contacts

I'm probably wrong. I may not be right about that.

The setting I'm speaking about doesn't appear in your portal, and I don't know why that is. This functionality is listed beneath the option to sync record ownership between contacts and companies.

Hi @Sai,
I am wondering if you solved this issue?
I have similar issue, "Allow public Access" for Contacts module was initialy set, and I was able to get contact details via link I get via API.

However, for test purposes, I disabled it, and it didn't just disable it, it also removed this option from list of available Contact settings.

So I wonder if anyone had similar issue and how it is resolved.

I have the same problem.  I disabled it in my sandbox and it didn't just turn off, it disappeared.  I need the ability to turn this back on, in the event when I turn it off in production something breaks.

Hello,

Thanks for the link, but unfortunately i couldnt find the settings even though i am super admin.

My actual query is, will toggling the option have any impact on exisitng data? Do we need to create entire Sales org again for this?

I am newbie to HubSpot and sorry for missing any technical stuff here.

Best,Sai Krishna

The Public View setting doesn't change any of the data on the contact record. It just says, "If HubSpot email or other integrations send a link to a public contact record, is a HubSpot login required in order to view the record?"

The public contact won't have any in-app navigation options, so you only see what's on that contact. It looks exactly the same as an in-app contact record.
