Wrong sequence status when contact replied to an email after sequence ended

Hi!

I'm seeing some wrong sequence statuses for contacts who have replied to a sequence email, but the status is still showing "sequence ended, no response" for that contact. I can see the logged email reply when looking at the contact record.

Is that because the contact replied to the email after the sequence had ended, and therefore not logged as a reply in the sequence? Any ideas how to work around this, if this is the case?

EDIT: Sorry, found the answer to the question in this post: https://community.hubspot.com/t5/Sales-Email/Contact-reply-not-capture-under-sequence-enrollments/m-...

Cheers!

Hello @Petter, I know you founded the answer but I would like to add more information about it.

If a contact replies to an email while still active/enrolled in the sequence, then the contact will be unenrolled and receive the status of "Contact replied to email".

However, if the contact replies and they are no longer active/enrolled in the sequence (for instance because they have run through the sequence and all the steps have been executed), then the status will not update to "Contact replied to email".

If the Sequence has only 1 step, it's expected that any replies that happen after the Sequence will not update the status as it is happening after the Sequence has ended.

I hope this information helps.

Pam

Hi there!

This doesn't make any sense at all. If we enroll in a sequence with say two emails, I would expect that if the contact replies to email #2 or books a meeting after email #2 being sent to be appropiately tagged as "Booked a meeting" or "Replied to email". At least Hubspot should give us the ability to select a timeframe or delay to establish when the sequence "ends". For example, setting a "Wait" for 5 days for a potential reply or meeting booked would do the trick.

With this current setup we have very poor data on our Sequences performance when they have "ended".
