I'm wondering if someone could give me some pointers on how I could set up some 'template' deals, so to speak, to represent specific services my business offers and connect that to the workflow so that a 'deal' is created for a contact object when triggered based on a contact property.
The goal is to avoid a user creating a deal manually and typing in the same information each time - I hope this makes sense.
Sure, if you're still referring to creating deals within a contact-based workflow, and if you're using the "Create record" action to create a deal, you should see this:
You can then copy contact property values into a deal property. (If that doesn't exist yet, you need to create a custom property.)
If you don't want to do this as part of the record creation but in a separate workflow, you can also always use the "Copy property value" action to copy between objects:

Currently, I'm trying to figure out how the deal object can store the residential address of the contact? I need some information about the contact associated with the deal to display as deal properties.

If you know under which circumstances you'd like to create a deal and associate it with a contact, then you can do so via a contact-based workflow. Set up your enrollment criteria accordinging to those circumstances and then find the 'Create record' action in the right sidebar. You can choose to create a deal and set whichever deal property values you'd like directly at the moment of deal creation.
Have a look and let me know if you have any follow-up questions!
