I've never seen this happen, but have you tried to clone the email - I know thats a pain but it's clearly a bug that folks (HubSpot) can't seem to get to the bottom of. Maybe cloning it would reboot that? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ - the old turn it off and turn it on again advice...
if that works - you could simply swap out the email in the automation.
Also curious - is the deal personalization needed? I'm not sure what the use case.
Is this potentially something that shouldn't be automated and is better utilized as a sales email template or sales sequence for follow up?
