Service Object Enhancement

SOLVE

I've noticed that the service object is missing from the index page, and currently, we can't perform automation actions for it. It would be incredibly helpful to have the service object available on the index page or as navigable option. This would streamline our processes and improve overall efficiency.

Service Object Enhancement

SOLVE

Hey @DKahlon! A while ago HubSpot refreshed their platform, removing the original Sales, Marketing, and Service tabs from the menu.

Instead of grouping the features by hub, they know group them by function. Tickets and Inbox, for example, now live under the CRM tab.

The Knowledge Base is under the Content tab.

And lastly, the Chatflows and Surveys now live under the Automation tab.

Use the new Bookmarks feature to easily find your most commonly used tools!

Service Object Enhancement

SOLVE

Hi @DKahlon,

You're correct, the Services object does not yet appear in the navigation. You either have to access it through the index page dropdown...

karstenkoehler_0-1728711175564.png

... or through Menu > Data management > Data model.

I assume that's because this feature is still in public beta and will soon move into the navigation for more easy access.

As far as automation goes, you should see service-based workflows – but yes, beyond that, actions are limited. There is no way to associate a services record upon the creation of another 'core' object record and the associations beta does also not apply. Again, this is likely due to workflow associations being in beta, too.

If you want to flag this with the product team (although I'm sure they're very much aware of it), you can do so in the HubSpot Ideas section of the community: https://community.hubspot.com/t5/HubSpot-Ideas/idb-p/HubSpot_Ideas

The product team reviews this feedback based on its popularity.

I would assume we'll see these changes shortly. These features are simply very new and not yet fully fleshed out.

Hope this helps!

Totally get where you’re coming from. When the Service object first launched, a lot of people ran into the same thing.

HubSpot’s been expanding it little by little as the object matures, and navigation should keep getting better as they roll out more updates—especially now that workflows and reporting are more built out.

In the meantime, using the Bookmarks feature can make a big difference. You can pin Service records to your sidebar so they’re easier to get to.

Automation’s still a bit limited too—you can trigger Service-based workflows, but automatic associations (like linking a ticket when a Service record is created) aren’t fully native yet.

If you want to dig a little deeper into why it’s still worth leaning into even with some of these early growing pains, we put together a breakdown here:

How are you handling this Service object when it comes to payment? I'm not able to find a way to associate with payment links/invoices, Is it all going to a Deal, and from the Deal associating? What would be the difference to consider the Service a Product/Line item then?

Service Object Enhancement

Hi @karstenkoehler & @EmmaAtKiwi

I'm referring to the service object shown in Picture 1. It is located in the Object Library. Currently, we have decided to use it, but it may be under development or something else since I am unable to find it within the Navigation Index (see Picture 2).

The only way to locate it is by searching for the object through contacts, companies, or deals, and it will take you there (see Picture 3).

Additionally, there is no automation available to automatically associate any object with the Service object. It would be beneficial to have this automation in the future as I am trying to associate tickets with the Service object.

Service Object Enhancement

SOLVE

Hi @mohamedhamad,

We use the Service Object as a project planning tool. In other words, if anyone provides after-sales services, it’s an excellent way to manage those within Hubspot without needing alternative software. Having all customer data centralized in Hubspot makes it far easier for our Sales team to see if there are any ongoing services happening or in progress. It streamlines the entire process and ensures that our team has a comprehensive view of customer interactions and service status. Additionally, you can associate the Service Object with companies or any other standard objects, making it even more versatile and integrated. You can also move services to stages, such as tickets or any customized stages you have, which adds another layer of flexibility to the management process.

Service Object Enhancement

SOLVE

Hi @DKahlon,

Is the service object a custom object that you created in your portal or are you referring to the Service Hub? When you say it's missing from the index page, what exactly are you referring to – the menu in the left sidebar?

Features typically disappear for the following reasons:

  • They've been removed from your HubSpot portal by a user. (Is there a chance someone simply deleted the custom object if we're talking about the custom object? What do you see in the custom object settings? Please share a screenshot.)
  • You lack the permissions to access the feature. (Are you a super admin? If not, can you ask a super admin whether they can see the custom object / Service Hub alright? If so, your permissions would have to be adjusted.)
  • You downgraded and your new subscription level does not include custom objects anymore (below Enterprise). Which subscription level are you on exactly?

Best regards!
