Quote Title Defaults to Deal Name

SOLVE

Currently the quote title defaults to the deal name, which defaults to the company name - New Deal.

We have internal facing information in our company and deal naming conventions - would be great to have the option to make the quote title just blank and have the rep type in a title. They sometimes forget to edit the deal title to remove this information, so it would be nice to have this blank.

Quote Title Defaults to Deal Name

SOLVE

Hi @courtney_hickey,

This is currently not possible. However, in the last step of the quote editor, the quote is previewed. At this point, it's still possible to go back and change the quote title. If you remind sales reps to check this, that might reduce the margin of error.

Also, in Sales Hub Enterprise, you can enable a feature to approve quotes: https://knowledge.hubspot.com/deals/approve-quotes

In any case, if you want to be able to set a naming convention (e.g. empty) for quote titles, you could request this in the HubSpot Ideas section of the community: https://community.hubspot.com/t5/HubSpot-Ideas/idb-p/HubSpot_Ideas

The product team reviews these requests based on their popularity. Keep in mind that an empty quote title would, if it goes unnoticed and unchanged, result in an error and that a placeholder name is common practice in all features in HubSpot (lists, workflows, emails, forms).

Hope this helps!

Hello @karstenkoehler, thank you for the clarification, we will remind the sales reps to check for this, but it would still be nice to put a system in place to increase visibility.

The quote approval feature would definitely be a solution if we could have more than one quote approver, but delaying quotes going out until a single person has time to check them all is not ideal.

I am not concerned about the lack of title causing an error as HubSpot will not allow the user to move to the next step without entering a quote name. In fact, the attention drawn to the field when it is empty is a positive from my end in this case.Screen Shot 2022-06-10 at 10.11.30 AM.png

Overall the placeholder is a positive, but calling a quote "Company Name - New Deal" as each successive placeholder builds into this field is not ideal for a customer view.

I appreciate you taking the time to respond and will follow the suggestion of posting into the ideas section of the community!

Cheers,

Courtney
