I've come across an issue with the HubSpot live chat widget on our website.
Device: iPhone
OS: iOS 15 (latest)
Browser: Safari
Specifically, the latest version of Safari has tabs and the address bar positioned at the bottom of the screen. When a visitor launches a live chat, the live chat text box is actually hidden behind the tab/page name. Users therefore can't actually see what they're typing.
The solution to this is for the user to change their Safari settings to display tabs at the top of the screen. Of course this isn't really a solution since most users won't know what to do.
Has anyone found a fix for this? Seems like it's kind of a serious issue.
I noticed that you have already connected with the Technical Support team and they reported this matter to the internal product team. The team is currently investigating this and the Support rep will get back to you as soon as there's an update. I will, however, also be sharing the updates in this thread once I hear back from the team for visibility!
I've heard back from the internal product team and sharing the update here:
Safari identified this matter on their end and they released an update with iOS 15.1 which should resolve this. This is an external bug report for Safari where other developers also had this problem.
