Leads Activity Association

SOLVE

Is anyone else annoyed by the fact that activities don't seem to associate to a specific lead you are working? For example, I only want to see the context of what's happening in the contact record preview that has to do with the lead I am assigned. I don't want to see other activities from other reps that also have communication with the same contact record because they may be assigned to a separate lead within that contact record. Is there any workaround for this or any plans in the future to have activities logged in the leads module be associated to just the lead itself? Hope this makes sense.

Hello @BérangèreL ,

Thanks for mentioning me!

So @mattbaranello I see two options here -

  1. You can use hubspot default filters to filter your activity.

  2. Otherwise there is a wonderful option is available in HubSpot to customize your contact object's middle view/section and in this also I would suggest to use HubSpot Custom CRM card this require little coding but this will give you exactly you are looking for. So what i understand you want to see activity done by you whenevr you open any contact without any filter so HubSpot Custom CRM card feature is best for you.

I am giving some resources for you -

 Resource 1

 Resource 2

I hope this will help you.

Hey @mattbaranello

so you can choose manually to associate/Disassociate an activity in the LEAD

to do this you will go into the activity

right-bottom Associations and unpick the boxes you dont want, for example, the contact.

You always need 1 association, maybe the company its just fine.

@mattbaranello agree that filtering your contact record is the best way to limit the activity to the items you created only - your filters will be saved and visible from record to record, so once you set it the way you'd like, you won't have to edit again.

I have a question in regards to the leads, For example I am trying to make an automatic association that any activity by the lead at the contact level. I know that you can manually associate but I would like to have the association be automatic. I notice that in hubspot settings you can go to associations at any of the other objects such as company or contact but I cant do it for leads. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi @mattbaranello,

Thank you for asking the Community!

I understand that in the activity feed on a contact record, you'd like to see the activity of only one user (yourself). Please let me know if that's not the case.

If that's what you are looking for, you should be able to filter the activity by user.

If that's not the case, can you please give more details.
The more info, screenshots (without sensitive/confidential information), and details you can provide, the better the Community can assist.

I'd like invite a couple of subject matter experts to this conversation: Hi @Jnix284, @LouiseHare and @SNigam do you have other suggestions to help @mattbaranello, please?

Also, if anybody else has anything to add and/or share, please feel free to join in the conversation 🙂

Thank you so much and have a wonderful day!

Best,
Bérangère

This is definitely what I was looking to do. Thank you.

Another question: if a user (sales rep for example) filters themselves as the User within a contact record's activities, will this filter carry over into other records? Or is there something in the organizational settings that I need to adjust?

you're welcome @mattbaranello - once any user sets their filters, it is retained from one record to the next for that object (Contacts) and would need to be set per object, for example Company record filters would have to be set separately.

I just did a test and it looks like only the activity filters are retained from record to record and that the "users" filter isn't being saved once you go to another record:

This would definitely become frustrating to manage if you have to constantly filter the records by user - I submitted an idea here to request this feature from the product team. Please add your feedback and upvote, the more people who engage with the idea the more likely it is to be reviewed.
