How to change the size of the Reply/Comment section using HubSpot's Conversations (Live Chat, Inbox)

HubSpot just released an update last Friday, where your Reply/Comment section got larger for some reason. I reached out to HubSpot's support and I found out there's no documentation on how to change it, so here we are.
In order to change the size, you just need to drag the blue down up or down:

Does anyone else feel like its a bit cumbersome? Our team is moving over from Front and we want them to use Conversations as their primary interface when dealing with clients. They, however, find the UX really frustrating and busy. They shouldn't have to resize an email field every time they send a detailed reply to a client!
Is there any other workaround for this? We can send emails from Contacts, Deals or Tickets, but even so...
