Fallback-values for email templatesSOLVE

I'm trying out email templates in a free account.
I don't seem to get the option to provide fallback values for customer tokens. Instead, I just get a blank space if the contact record does not have info for a particular field, which is not as great.
Is there a way to add fallback values to sales templates? (In paid accounts, if not in free?)
