I want to make my pipeline "dumb proof" and was wondering if there is a way for me to make it impossible to move a deal away from churn stage, as long as churn date is known.
Meaning to move it out of the stage, the churn date must be removed.
I do not just want it to be put back thru a workflow, but not let the sales team take it out of the stage befor the chrun date property is unknown.
The short answer would be: If you have an Enterprise subscription, then yes, this can be done, if not, then no.
The approach here would be using a workflow that sets a checkbox property to 'Yes' if the churn date is unknown. The workflow would clear the property when the churn date is known. As part of an Enterprise subscription, this property can be made view-only for all users, not giving them the ability to edit it.
The property can then be made mandatory when the deal is moved away from the churn deal stage.
Let me know if you have any follow-up questions! Happy to provide more detailed documentation if you want to go this route.
If you don't have an Enterprise subscription, there aren't any tools or settings that I'm aware of which could accomplish what you're looking for.
Best regards!

But would this work Operations Hub Professional, other then the 'view-only' part? As long as i can make a property mandatory when the deal is moved away from a stage, I think I can make it work.
