Automatically create new deal value based on previous deal value

SOLVE

Hi,

I'm trying to build a workflow that auto-populates fields as much as possible; the idea is that, once a deal is Closed Won, it creates a new deal, which is straightforward enough. However, when selecting 'Choose an Action': 'Create Record' and then 'Deal', the 'Amount' field seems to only want to take a fixed value - there's no drop down to select from, it just says 'Enter the new value to set to this property'.

What I want to be able to do is for the Amount field to automatically be populated based on the value of the deal that is being closed - is this possible? Many thanks in advance for any help, all suggestions gratefully received!

Best

Chris

Hi @ChrisBu,

When you create a deal record in a deal-based workflow, you should see a button "Copy a property to a deal property" in the right sidebar:

This is where you can copy a value from the source deal into the target deal.

Hope this helps!
