Attaching identifiers to Chat sessions such as User Id or Email Address.

Is there a way to attach identifiers to a live chat session, such as an email address? The idea would be that if an already registered user on the website is using the chat, I can attach their email address so that when the conversation comes through to Hubspot, I know who it is. Is that possible?
