Marking a Sale as "Won" (or Lost) on Hubspot

SOLVE

When we win a sale, we are moving the deal to our "Complete" column, but there is nowhere to mark the sale as "Won" (or lost for that matter) on the system, so that it then disappears from the pipe. I have tried looking on the articles/videos and searching all over the deal page and cannot see this feature. Does it exist please and if so where? Thanks so much, Neil.

Hi @NWoodward,

Deals do not disappear from the deal index page. You can think of HubSpot as a large spreadsheet: You wouldn't ever delete a row, you would only hide it.

That's why in HubSpot it's best practice to create and save filtered views: https://knowledge.hubspot.com/crm-setup/create-customize-and-manage-your-saved-views

In this filtered view, you would set up a filter show deals that are in any other stage than "Complete".

In other words, you're simply hiding deals from your view. HubSpot does not have a feature that will make them disappear for good. They will always be there.

On a related note, by default, HubSpot has a "Closed won" and "Closed lost" column. I would not recommend working with a combined "Complete" column. You can update your pipeline stages in the settings, if you want back to the default including "Closed won" and "Closed lost": https://knowledge.hubspot.com/deals/set-up-and-customize-your-deal-pipelines-and-deal-stages

Hope this helps!
