Workflows to throttle sequence emails to send only a few at a time?
SOLVE
We are running into an issue where, when too many prospects get enrolled into a sequence at once, our email provider blocks our sender because of too many emails going out at the same time. I've checked and there is no way to throttle the emails to go out in a delayed cadence, sending only 10 per minute or something. I've up-voted this feature in the ideas area, but in the meantime, I am wondering if anyone has come up with a workaround?
I was thinking maybe there is a way to use workflows to delay send by doing something like:
When sequence enrolled date is known AND a contacts first name starts with A, B or C, then delay sequence email send, but I can't figure out if this would work. Does anyone have any ideas or tricks they've used to overcome this?
How are your contacts being enrolled into sequence? Manually / in bulk by users or via workflow?
If it's via workflow, then yes, your approach by letter could be an option:
If these contacts are being enrolled in bulk by users, then any solution would rely on the sales users. Generating awareness on this issue is likely the best option; explaining to them that they shouldn't bulk enroll in batches of 50 but maybe 25, spacing them out by a few minutes.

Hey! We've built an app that will be able to help you with this. It's called Time Turner, and it allows you to throttle your HubSpot workflows and drip-feed your emails out over time.

We are also looking for a way to throttle emails so only 10-20 emails are sent a day at separate times for a list of 300+ contacts. That way our emails don't get marked as spam.
Woodpecker has the ability to throttle emails, sending out about 10 a day during different times in the work day. There is an integration but it is super basic.
Throttling is a super important feature to add to HubSpot. It will prevent our domain from being blocklisted as well as our emails automatically going into the spam folder of recipients.
Please escalate this to the HubSpot Management Team in charge of bringing on new features.
I would highly recommend submitting this feedback to the ideas forum.
Our product team, who monitors the forum regularly, can read your specific use case and understand why this would be a useful functionality or change. It also helps other customers facing the same issue to advocate for its implementation on your behalf by upvoting on the thread as well.

yes, but how wouold you spaae them out ?
lets say i "select all" on a page of contacts (25), then enroll them in a sequence.
I then schedule them for lets say 9 AM to send.
My issue that im running into is that the emails are getting sent to spam and being flagged. Instead of hub spot evenely distrubiting the emails withing the hour they send all 25 emails within 5 minutes. Thus blocking my email.

Yeah this definitely needs to be fixed boss. Your other competitors can not only throttle the per day drop ins automatically with a simple setting, but even space those email sends with different time frames ie - all at once - one every 20 seconds, one ever 1-5 mintues, etc
