SOLVE

Hi everyone!

In Sequences, I have a challenge:

Is there a way to "block/suppress" contacts, from receiving the one-to-one emails in sequences, based on the email domain?

As a workaround, I thought I could do this:

  • Create suppression list > Filter: specific client email domains
  •                                            > Filter: Opt-out from one to one emails
  • Create workflow > Trigger: List membership > Suppression list
  •                                > Action: Set contact property > Opt-out from one to one emails
  •                                 > Action: Set company property > Opt-out from one to one emails

Can anyone please give me advice - will this work? Or are there any other workarounds that would be better suited for this issue?

I would REALLY appreciate anyone's help with this!

Hi @johanwaldeck,

Opting them out from the one-to-one email subscription type would indeed be the safest option. You could simplify it however:

The enrollment criteria check whether a contact does have a certain email domain (this could also be referenced via a list, yes) and whether the contact is either opted in or does not have an opt-status (because why enroll contact that are already opted out).

Recently, a feature was added in workflows that lets you unenroll contacts from a contact-based workflow – but that is useless here as a contact would have to be enrolled to begin with.

Hope this helps!
