Sales email template in workflow?

Hello,

I'd love to be able to send a sales email template within an automated workflow, rather than a marketing email. It doesn't appear that there is a way to do this? Has anyone identified any workarounds to achieving this?

Hi @SDay29,

Sales email templates cannot be sent directly from workflows, as you already found.

The only way to send sales emails from workflows is by creating a sequence that contains a template, then enrolling a contact in a sequence using a workflow. https://knowledge.hubspot.com/sequences/enroll-and-unenroll-contacts-in-sequences-using-workflows

(This is a Sales and Service Hub Enterprise feature only, it cannot be done in Professional subscriptions.)

If you don't have these subscriptions, the next best thing would be creating a plain-text marketing email template in the drag and drop email editor, making it look as if it was a plain sales email: https://knowledge.hubspot.com/marketing-email/create-marketing-emails-in-the-drag-and-drop-email-edi...

This can then be sent as an automated email: https://knowledge.hubspot.com/marketing-email/create-automated-emails-to-use-in-workflows

Besides that, there aren't any workarounds natively in HubSpot. The sending of sales email templates can only be automated when you're an Enterprise customer.

you can either use sequences

or use plain text templates for your marketing emails

and personalize the owner's firm so that they seem a sales email.

IF you are specifically thinking on choosing an sales template from the email marketing section, this is not possible.

Hi SDay29,

You cannot send sales email with workflows but only marketing email. To automate your sales email, there is a different automation tool in HubSpot called Sequences.  With the sequences tool, you can send a series of targeted, timed email templates  to nurture contacts over time. You can also automatically create tasks  to remind you to follow up with your contacts.
