Recent sales email open date - Null

SOLVE

Hello! I am experiencing an issue where some sales emails that have been opened do not have a "Recent sales email open date" value. I cannot figure out why this is happening. I have contacts in the same sequence where both contacts opened various emails in the sequence multiple times. One contact will have a value in "Recent sales email open date" with a history of the field changing as the multiple opens happened, while the other contact has opens too that can be seen on the "Activities" tab of the contact record, but the "Recent sales email open date" value is null and has no history. I cannot find any difference between the two. The definition HubSpot provides of the field is: "the date of the last time that the contact opened a sales email. This property does not update for emails that were sent to more than one contact". All of my emails are being sent to one contact, so that should not apply.

Has anyone else experienced this and figured it out? Thanks in advance!

I found the solution in case anyone else runs into this problem. The "Legal basis for processing contact's data" field must have a value. See this knowledge base article for more: https://knowledge.hubspot.com/contacts/how-can-i-track-lawful-basis-of-processing-in-hubspot
