Opt-Out reversal with Sales Starter and Marketing Starter

SOLVE

I've seen some old solurtions that didn't work, And I've seen this NEW solution:https://knowledge.hubspot.com/email/resubscribe-contacts-to-your-marketing-emails#resubscribe-a-cont...

that won't work for my product version. 

I NEED a solution for this that won't require a license change.

Here is the scenario.

I have a few people - one is a particular issue today - that opted out of all emanil from a marketing email. I have now closed a deal with her organization and we will be required to be able to communicate via email. I don't need the ability to send marketing emails, just one-to-one emails.

Hi @DocWatson,

 

In that case I'd recommend reaching out to support via the in-app help widget. I can't reproduce this on my end in a starter portal.

Hi @DocWatson,

 

You can manually resubscribe a contact who opted out of receiving marketing emails on their contact record, as long as you provide a legal basis and explanation for communicating with them. Have you tried this?

Yes, and the contact status still says "Opted Out."

When I just tried this in a Starter portal, it worked perfectly fine. Have you tried refreshing the contact record after?

SOLVE

Yes, several times. I thought at first it might have been because I both selected "Subscription Type = one-to-one" and "Remove Opt-out from all mail" but now I've done it with only the first one and she still comes up as opted out.
