Looking for help on tracking success for sales outbound campaign
resolver
Hi everyone,
New to HubSpot and trying to set up some lists/reporting to track the effectiveness of a sales outreach campaign.
Just for reference, let's call this the Airport Campaign, and everyone we're reaching out to with Sales emails (using Templates) works for an Airport.
Effectiveness = getting info about:
– Which contacts are in the Airport Campaign (is there a best practice way of tagging/classifying Contacts so we know they're associated with Airports/the Airport Campaign)
– Invalid email addresses (we did a bunch of prospecting and some of the email addresses are not valid so my Sales team needs to update them; can you create a List for this?)
– Contacts opening/clicking the sales outreach emails (who in our List of Contacts in the Airport Campaign is actually opening the emails?)
Sorry for the extremely broad question – new to this – looking for a scalable and sustainable way of tracking performance for these Sales outbound campaigns moving forward.
– Which contacts are in the Airport Campaign (is there a best practice way of tagging/classifying Contacts so we know they're associated with Airports/the Airport Campaign)
For this you can add the contacts to a list and use list membership to classify them or use a custom property to classify them
– Invalid email addresses (we did a bunch of prospecting and some of the email addresses are not valid so my Sales team needs to update them; can you create a List for this?)
Create an active contact list and use activity as the primary filtering - from here you can select email send status is any of bounce
– Contacts opening/clicking the sales outreach emails (who in our List of Contacts in the Airport Campaign is actually opening the emails?)
You can create a report that shows a contact name or company and the associated count of sales emails opened
You could also use the last sales email open date as a qualifier if you aren't specifically looking for a count
You have a few options here to track the effectiveness of your efforts. There are some limitations on starter, but you should be able to get enough data out to accomplish what you need.

My apologies, that's from the Custom Report Builder, which would be a limitation on Starter.
Unfortunately, you might have to rely on the count of contacts and use a filter of "recent sales email open date is known" on top of your other filters. This will at least give you the number of contacts that have opened sales emails for your campaigns.
Sorry about the confusion!

I see that you are displaying by outreach campaign. You could use that same property as a filter and only show the particular campaign(s) you want to see.

Hi Josh! After a long time looking for it, I am unable to find the screen that you screenshotted below for setting up the reports nor can I find the "Count of Sales Opens" criteria in the criteria list. I'll accept your reply as a solution however because you really helped me out with the first two – thanks again, I appreciate it!

Thank you, Josh!
For the report you recommended, is it possible to restrict to a certain campaign?
I created a multi-select checkbox Contact property for "Outreach Campaign" and would like to restrict the report to display only Companies belonging to Contacts with "Off-Airport Operator Q4" activated in that field.
