I have a sequence that was sent but the contact name was different from the contact name in Properties. The example: Jackie is the contact, however in the sequence their name was sent as Jeckkie. How does this type of error occur, and can it be prevented?
HubSpot locks in the contact's name and other properties at the moment you enroll them in a sequence. If you correct the name after the enrollment, emails already scheduled will use the old value saved.
To prevent this review contact details before enrolling by going to the CRM > Contacts
Go for the Actions menu in the contact record to fix any formatting or correct typos
Once you think all is right enroll the contact in your sequence as usual.
For the case to correct the incorrect name after enrollment Go for the sequence in which its enrolled and unenroll the contact from the sequence and correct the property and enroll the contact again for the emails to use the updated name.
Moving forward make sure you use personalisation tokens like contact.firstName instead of typing name manually, and regularly audit to avoid typos or duplicates
