When sending an email to a prospect, if I open the email in my sent folder to view it or click on the document link in the email, it will log as if the prospect has opened the email and viewed the page.
Is there something that I am missing on my end that would make sure my IP cannot be logged as an opened email or viewed page?
As far as the document within the email, it will even log the prospects name under who has viewed it (this has even happend when the email is drafted and hasn't been sent yet - I'm clicking the link to ensure it goes to the right place and then I get a notification that the prospect has viewed it).
Links are tracked by appending tracking to the end of any hyperlink included in your email. Each link is made uniquely for the recipient – it's not possible to block certain IPs from email tracking, see also this thread on the community.
In other words, you can keep on opening emails if you use one of the two sales extensions mentioned above. Clicking is a no-go – you'd have to make sure before sending that the link works fine.
Best regards!
