Email Tracking Keeps Tracking Me

SOLVE

Is there a way to tell hubspot who "I" am? So when I open email chains it doens't flag that as the recipient taking action? Something like Google Analyics lets me filter out internal traffic to my site, I'd like to filter out my own activity from my customers and prospects.

Thx!
J

Email Tracking Keeps Tracking Me

SOLVE

Hi @RXA,

Yes, these self-open email notifications can be blocked with the HubSpot Sales Outlook desktop add-in or the Chrome extension. You can find the instructions here: https://knowledge.hubspot.com/email-tracking/block-self-open-notifications-with-the-hubspot-sales-ou...

Hope this helps!

Email Tracking Keeps Tracking Me

SOLVE

Thanks for the links, I was able to find the solution here: Manage your HubSpot Sales extension settings

Here's the instructions:

To find your own IP address, you can do one of the following:

  • Go to http://whatismyip.com or http://ip4.me/. Your IP address will display at the top of the screen. If you are working remotely, this could change frequently.
  • Ask your IT department for this information.
  • Call your internet provider and ask them what your IP range is.
  • Find out if your internet provider can provide you with a static IP for your corporate office or home network and use that instead.

For best results, confirm that you're using the latest version of Google Chrome. When you have your IP address or the IP address you want to block:

  • In your HubSpot account, click the settings icon settings in the main navigation bar.
  • In the left sidebar menu, navigate to General
  • Click the Email tab.
  • In the Email extension settings section, click Manage blocked IP addresses.
  • In the dialog box, enter an IP address, then click Add.

Hi @RXA ,

From your post what I got that you are trying to exclude internal emails on email analytics page results? Am I right.
Currently this seems impossible but this is in planning. Check here: HubSpot Community - Exclude internal emails on email analytics page results - HubSpot Community.

Hope this helps!
