Email Template sent from Deal with Company personlization token

SOLVE

I built a email template with a personalization token of a custom property from the company record.  When I use the email template from the customer object the property populates as expected.  When I use the same email template, but sending it from a deal that is associated to that company, that property does not populate.

We need to send that template from the Deal object, but pull data from the associated, primary company.

Email Template sent from Deal with Company personlization token

SOLVE

Hi @GPFlores15

While there's a limitation in using custom company property tokens directly in email templates sent from deal records in HubSpot.

The preferred solution is to create a deal-based workflow with a custom contact property.

Start by creating a new custom contact property that mirrors the desired custom company property.

Then, set up a workflow that triggers on deal creation or specific stage changes, enrolling the associated contact and updating the custom contact property with the value from the company property using the company name token.

Lastly, use the personalization token for the custom contact property in your email template, allowing you to pull the company record value even when sending from the deal object.

Hope this helps - Happy to help further!!
Thank you very much and have a great one!
Warm regards

Email Template sent from Deal with Company personlization token

SOLVE

Hi @GPFlores15

When you say "We need to send that template from the Deal object" I assume that means via a deal-based workflow, correct? I just want to make sure I understand what you are trying to do.

If that is the case, the most common reason why an associated object property is not populating in an email is that either no object is associated or that more than one object is associated.

Can you share some screenshots of your email, the personalisation tokens you have used to help us understand your setup?

Thanks

Frank
