So are issue is the following:
- We have a deal based workflow for abandon cart
- We have a subscription type called Marketing
We want the mail from the Deal based workflow only to enroll those deals with a contact where the contact is a subscriber of Marketing subscription.
Currently it sends the mail to everyone.

UPDATE: No built-in solution (based on new information originally not provided)
Short A: Use a Contact-based workflow and update your enrollment triggers.

Thanks for the clarification. We've updated the original answer to emphasize the change from a Deal-based workflow to a Contact-based workflow.
Our goal: To only send marketing email to an INDIVIDUAL SPECIFIC CONTACT who has opted-in to marketing email AND who is associated with a deal in the Checkout Abandoned deal stage.
Email Subscription status is a 'contact-based' trigger filter. We need to apply the contact-based Email Subscrption trigger filter to an INDIVIDUAL SPECIFIC CONTACT before emailing.
Since Deal-based workflows are 'deal-based', the Email Subscription trigger filter is not available for Deal-based workflows.
[AND, Deal-based workflows apply the 'Accepts marketing' (only for Shopify) trigger filter and the 'Marketing email confirmation status' trigger filter to 'At least one associated contact' -- (not strict enough for our use case).]
As such, we need a Contact-based workflow. This will sufficiently restrict the marketing email to an INDIVIDUAL SPECIFIC CONTACT who has opted-in to marketing email AND who is associated with a deal in the Checkout Abandoned deal stage. (our goal)
Limitations: Including these combined enrollment criteria directly in our workflow will only fire the workflow once for any individual specific contact. In other words, should the contact abandon checkout at a later date they will not be re-enrolled in our workflow.
To resolve this future use case, we would need to build smart lists for use as both enrollment AND re-enrollment criteria -- (beyond the scope of the original question, but imortant to mention nonetheless)
