Will Chat GPT or others AI replace SEO position?

Hi @Rankz

This is a very interesting topic!

I found this blog article by Google (Guidance about AI-generated contentvery helpful; it sheds some light on how Google Search treats AI-generated content.

I'd love to see if the SEO experts in our Community have any helpful resources about AI-generated content and its impact on SEO:

Hi @Jnix284@ChristinaKay@Sam62, any thoughts or resources you'd like to share? Thank you!

Cheers

Will Chat GPT or others AI replace SEO position?

Thanks @MiaSrebrnjak  and hello @Rankz , happy to chime in a bit.

As far as SEO, Google doesn't treat AI generated content differently than human-created content, but I can see a situation where the AI content will start to surpass the human content because it has a larger depth of "knowledge" in that it can access the whole internet of information and as a human, your knowledge is limited to your experience.

This is where being human becomes more important - even if you use AI to help you generate an outline, draft, etc., its up to you to add the human to human insight as a thought leader that helps connect your content with your audience at a deeper level.

I've read a lot of AI generated blogs and no one has to tell me that's what I'm reading, my brain goes right to skim mode and I can pick out all the key phrases and expressions that are used somewhat repeatedly in conveying the information and for me, while they can be informative, they always feel surface level and never quite go deep enough on a topic.

The challenge for anyone creating content is to not get lazy. At the point everyone relies on AI, there is no new information or ideas being shared and things will get repetitive, making it harder to stand out from the crowd unless you add depth and value.
