Something I've been seeing a lot with e-commerce clients is that their traditional SEO efforts are strong—good rankings for category pages, solid content—but they are completely invisible on the Google Shopping tab.
It seems like there's a huge misunderstanding in the industry that great on-site SEO will automatically translate to Shopping success. In my experience, the opposite is often true. The Shopping tab's algorithm is a different beast, prioritizing the quality and optimization of the Merchant Center feed above all else. A perfect product title can be more powerful than a dozen backlinks.
My question for the community is: Have you experienced this? What has been your biggest challenge when trying to improve visibility on the Shopping tab?
Is it feed errors, image quality, or something else?
For anyone struggling with this, I recently compiled our entire 7-step framework for tackling this exact problem into a guide. It covers everything from feed optimization to Merchant Center settings.
