My directory will have list filters which include sorting to the newest listing, location, and more but i will have to canonicalize my page so google can index only the main listing page of the category like handicraft stores insead of newest listing of handicraft stores.

I will achieve that by making a link.tree so that all my links are cohesive and together. Making them easy to navigate and to spot. I've actually used redirect codes recently to improve our technical SEO as our company had 2 separate URLs. Now, one of them directs permanently to the main page so all leads are directed to the same page. This also improved our internal processes as both the sites had identical information that doubled the amount of time we needed to update it.

One action I’m taking to improve my website’s technical SEO is conducting a comprehensive crawl to uncover any hidden issues especially orphan pages or inefficient redirects which can often be missed when building out new content. As a marketing student who’s worked with WordPress, HubSpot, and scheduling tools, I’ve seen firsthand how technical glitches can block great content from ranking.
