How do you scale backlinks (also known as inbound links)

When it comes to link building, most people get stuck around scaling link building. This is often because people focus on scaling individual link-building tactics, instead of building and scaling relationships. Relationships have everything to do with building links. Link building is about carefully and tactfully building meaningful relationships with the right people who can and want to link to your website.

What steps can you take towards building relationships and starting to scale your backlinks?

One tactic that I'm working on is building relationships with other small to medium businesses that we can share content. For example, working with them on our podcast and on blog posts/articles that we may share expertise or interest in. It's extremely rewarding to see a company that enjoyed the episode they helped create so much that they link it on their own website. The initial episode posting is the easiest. Now I'm working on building out those relationships to mutually beneficial in the long term.
