Defining your SEO goals
By setting goals and putting numbers to those goals, you'll be able to figure out whether your SEO efforts are actually paying off. Many businesses will simply say, "We want to rank #1 for this keyword," but that isn't quite enough.
Keeping this in mind, what are the goals for your website?
Do you want to increase organic traffic?
Do you want to increase the number of leads from your website?
Do you want to design a mobile-friendly website?
Or is your goal something completely different?
Share your primary SEO goal in the comments below!

My new web design business will launch in a few weeks and my goal with SEO is to generate traffic and generate leads by gathering emails from an online form or calendar schedule.

Defining your SEO goals
Hi everyone, great to be a part of this community and see your replies
We have a goal to to increase the average time spent on our site by 10% over the next 3 months.
That goes from improving the content so that it's authoratative and as @RMitchell3 said, to ensure that it answers the reader's questions.
We'd also like to increase the coversion rates by 10% over the next 6 months by adding more "sign-up-able" content that will not just encourage a signup but really add value to the reader's lives.
We'd also like to increase the organic traffic over the next 12 months through improved SEO rankings and we have a social media campaign aimed at increasing awareness and leading readers to the blog and other landing pages.
Do you want to increase organic traffic? yeah I just want to increase the organic traffic for our website and to increase the Domain authority of our website "vouchergate.co.uk"
I am taking these courses for personal and professional use. I work for a university currently, and there's always a lot of quality backlinks. However, I have a personal blog that I hope to one day make money making content for! I don't have many backlinks that I know of, so I want to work on improving my authority in searches. This means making more quality content, and also looking around for partnerships that will allow me to improve my ranking.
Achieve top-of-page ranking by creating quality (informative, readable, well-structured, contains structured data) content that fits in to a well-planned and researched keyword strategy and a well-built site structure. I want it to speak to a higher purpose, hold the reader's attention, and be shareable.
Drive organic traffic by optimising content for long-tail keywords and ensuring that the content answers the readers' questions. I will make sure the content fits into the site structure in a way that allows for internal linking in order to minimise bounce rates.
Generate leads and conversions by clearly explaining the products and offerings.
