Defining RevOps and Sharing Your Learning Goals

Lesson 1_Introduction to Revenue Operations (RevOps).png

Here at HubSpot, we define Revenue Operations, or RevOps, as the people, processes, systems, and data that control how your business generates revenue.

That means that if you work at an organization that generates revenue, then you have RevOps at play in your business!

RevOps enables you to not only strategically improve your customer experience, but it also lets you powerfully and intentionally scale your business.

So, as I kick-off this conversation about RevOps, I’d love to learn the following about you:

  1. What’s your name, and where are you based?
  2. How do you define RevOps?
  3. What do you hope to learn in HubSpot Academy’s Revenue Operations Certification?

Defining RevOps and Sharing Your Learning Goals

Sean Lewis, Buffalo, NY

At its root, RevOPS are the activities of a compay that focus on growing its top line while at the same time growing its Gross Margin/Net Income. In other words, RevOPS is all about ensuring data driven decisions for identifying proceses to decouple 1:1 COGS/COSS:Revenue, as well as identify systems that reduce current operational and/or step costs that increase Net from Operations.  These decisions and resulting processes will have the added benefit (when done correctly) of increasing x-team/EE cohesion, satisfaction, and productivity that will then translate into improved customer experience and supports.

The goal is to learn additional ways of adding HubSpot expertise and the platform to my own experience and help businesses grow more efficiently.

Defining RevOps and Sharing Your Learning Goals

My name is Mac and i lead Growth strategy and Revenue operations for a hyper growth B2B platform. I started my carrer in Sales operations and over the last decade understood the value of driving synergies across the customer value chain from Lead to Close. As I am transitioning into the world of RevOps, i realize the importance of renewals and value that customer success as an organization can bring to accelerate revenue and build long term partnerships.

RevOps is the holistic approach of unification of customer lifecycle (Lead - Close - Renew) through data driven insights and operational efficiency.

My objective of RevOps certification is to interact with Revenue leaders, share and learn best practices across the ecosystem.

Defining RevOps and Sharing Your Learning Goals

Hello!

My name is Camila and I´m based in Colombia.

So far, for me RevOps is the strategic and coordinated union of the areas involved in customer experience working together and with the support of the different processes and information available in order to provide a differential experience and as a consequence, generating better profits for the company.

I hope to learn how to apply those concepts from my position to help my team and my company and also improve my knowledge so I can seek to grow in my professional path in a more specialized position maybe in another company where I can be able to contribute more in the development of RevOps.
