Why do the companies showing in buyer intent not match the website visits?

SOLVE

I have noticed that in the buyer intent view that the companies identified do not necessarily match the companies showing in Website Visits view.  How is this possible?  The same tracking code is being used, and all is within HubSpot.  Has anyone else noticed this and can someone at HubSpot please comment on this.

Hey @LVasko The Buyer Intent view is often based on various data sources, including third-party intent data providers, while the Website Visits view only reflects traffic that’s tracked directly through your site. This means that the Buyer Intent view might show companies based on broader online behavior like searching for your business on other third party sites , not just your website visits.

its most likely a mis-match on third-party data vs the confirmed data from the prospect (in your Hubspot). The intent data is good but its not perfect unfortunately. The websites visit view is the more reliable source.

@Neil_HubbEngine , I'm not sure I'm making myself clear, so I am including a screenshot. Our website is hosted in HubSpot, so the website visit views is showing data from that. The buyer intent view shows companies that it says are visiting our site, and even shows pages visited...but those companies don't match one for one with what is showing in the website views app.  Forget the intent part, just based on the fact that it is showing pages visited, but not matching does not add up.

Intent data is provided by a third part (Clearbit). Its worth noting its still in beta.

Its an 'educated guess' as to which companies are visiting your website based on lots of signals from Clearbit like IP addresses . The data in your website visits reports is based on the accounts you have in your Hubspot account - i.e contacts that are known to belong to those accounts/companies based on their emails addresses etc.. its confirmed data.

They won't match up perfectly unfotunately because they are different data sources.

Its worth having a quick look at the below for reference to Clearbit - https://www.hubspot.com/products/artificial-intelligence/intent

Hi @DvinM , in the Buyer Intent view, it shows the website pages that the company has visited (see screen shot).  This data must be coming from our HubSpot hosted website, I don't know how else it would be getting that information, so this still has me asking the question of how the website visits shown on this view do not match what is shown in the Website View app within HubSpot, all the data is coming from HubSpot.
